In my trip to California a couple months ago, I finally (and I mean after planning for 4 years!) managed to do a glammy photoshoot with prominent cosplayer/model Rose. The first time I met her was at San Diego Comic Con in 2012 when she approached my table while--what else?--cosplaying.
I saw her several times throughout that weekend and quickly arranged an impromptu 1-minute shoot after the last day of the show. My pal Johnny and her friend Alexis were there to assist me crude strobist-style by holding a couple speedlights in the San Diego street right in front of the convention center as we had to fight the leaving crowd.
In the 4 years since I shot her, my photography grew, and her cosplay following blew up. Still, we never lost touch and had unsuccessfully tried to arrange a photoshoot during that time. Until this year! We arranged to shoot several sets in my hotel room (as I usually do on the road with models). In addition to the opening photo, here are the rest from the first set (in the gallery, hover your mouse to see EXIF info):
Finally, you check out the behind the scenes here (shot on a Panasonic G7 + metabones XL adapter + Sigma 18-35mm/1.8 lens on a MeFoto tripod)
