I've had enough white Christmas's; I can give them up for this easily! :P

Before anything else, I'd like to remind you that I'll be appearing this weekend at Metro Comic Con in Metropolis, Illinois! It will be my first time back since the summer of 2000 when I was a guest at that summer's Superman Celebration.
I hope to meet you guys in person at Metro Comic Con this weekend!
Anyway, if you some of you have followed some of my other social media, you may have noticed that I spent my first Christmas outside the wintery state of Minnesota. I visited Florida for a few days to see my sister (who's lived there for years) and to see my good pal Scott, who recently moved there. A lot of my time was spent in Redington Beach. In fact, everyday was beach life, yo!!!! Since today's entry is mostly a photo blog, I thought I'd show you what camera gear I brought with me:
My two most used cameras that I always had on me due to their size: the compact Panasonic LX100 (for my wide/normal zoom) and my Panasonic G7 + 35-100mm/2.8 telephoto lens. I also brought my Sony A7Rii, but took very few "travel" photos with it (I did, however, have an impromptu photography gig that I used it for). Click each photo to enlarge:
LX100: f/5.0, 1/2000 second, ISO 200. Playing with its continuous autofocus in burst mode.
LX100: f/4.0, 1/1000 second, ISO 200.
LX100: f/7.1, 1/60 second, ISO 200.
LX100: f/3.5, 8 seconds, ISO 200.
This was on a bridge looking out over the water into the black of night; I just wanted to play with long exposure on the LX100.
LX100: f/5.6, 1/500 second, ISO 200.
LX100: f/4.0, 1/2000 second, ISO 200.
LX100: f/4.0, 1/125 second, ISO 200.
LX100: f/5.6, 1/4000 second, ISO 200.
I used the Panasonic Remote Image app on my iPhone (as you can see in my left hand) to take this picture with Scott. Lighting was rough and very high contrast; shooting RAW and bumping up the shadows in Adobe Camera Raw does wonders.
LX100: f/4.0, 1/2000 second, ISO 200.
I manually focused on the bread, and shot in burst mode. I suppose I could have tried 4K Photo Mode, but I haven't played with it enough.
LX100: f/6.3, 1/4000 second, ISO 200.
Another perspective.

OMG I just barely caught this dolphin swimming in the water right below our feet!

Bye-bye, dolphin...

My new friend Martha...although it's a similar scene as Scott's picture above, the lighting was much different (they were shot on different days) and you can compare the differences in rendering from the two different cameras.
Martha again for Beachfront Fitness.

BOOM! That's it for now :) I want to be back for Christmas here again next year! But I will be back in Lakeland, Florida on March 12-13 for Fanboy Expo! :)
Finally, I just want to say that I purchased the Panasonic G7 camera shortly before this trip. After using it, I have to say that it's fast becoming my favorite camera to use due to its size and ergonomics/button placement. I got used to using it very quickly, and it is so full-featured. It doesn't make me miss selling my GH4 one bit!!
