Last week I showed some of the work that I did on Episode 39 of CBS's Big Brother; now I'm delighted to show you another illustration that slipped under my radar and had actually aired on Episode 38. It's the illustration you see above, and it was used as part of the backdrop on one of the HOH (Head of Household) challenges.

The concept given to me was to have a stick of butter drawn as the star of the illustration (Hollywood style, if you will), and holding a box of popcorn; the entire backdrop was a drive-in type theme. Here are the initial sketches I handed in to the art directors (drawn in Photoshop):

Well I must have misinterpreted my directions, and we decided to do a more "red carpet" theme. So here is the sketch that was approved:

Other than being asked to make the butter/popcorn more prominent, I was given the ok to finish the illustration that you now see at the top. I also took some screenshots of when you could see the art from the show itself:

Finally, I've actually put together a video showing the entire process of my illustration from start to finish. I thought other artists might be interested in the layering process (especially with colors). I used my Microsoft Surface Pro 2, and programs Clip Studio Paint Pro and Photoshop.
