This past December I had the pleasure of working with a friend/model who I've known for a few years now, Alison. I've also shot with her before, when she first started to dabble in modeling (see one of her tearsheets here for client OldSchool85 apparel). In fact, her mother and her older sister are gorgeous--what great family genes!
Here's a pinup painting I did of Alison's older sister I did a while back:
But I digress....
Alison is now ready to step up her modeling and exposure in a big way. And already with a strong built-in following on her social networks (and combined with my own following), we've decided to combine our efforts in what will be the first of a series in a new project/experiment.
Starting next month, we will be releasing download packs at a very reasonable price from our photoshoot. I'll throw up teasers and "safe" shots up here and there to help promote it, but the packs are where you'll get to see "more" of her in much higher res. ;) If the response is good, then we'll do more. Yes, there is a small (very cheap for what you get, actually) download fee, but remember that this benefits the models (Alison is the first) so that they can continue to pursue their goals. Here is a sneak peek of our shoot:
Here's the lighting info for the above series:
It's a two-light setup. The majority of the light was a blue-gelled speedlight that was super-clamped on the shower curtain rod behind the model, and angled down and forward for her back and hair. The spread of the speedlight also utilized the mirror in front of her as a strong bounce light to illuminate her front. I used the Orbis ring light adapter for a slight fill on her head and shoulders only; I was shooting wide angle so I was able to get closer with the Orbis, so its fill effect doesn't spray around and contaminate the rest of the scene. Finally, the speedlight inside the Orbis was gelled CTO to not only to neutralize the overpowering blue lighting, but to help give the warmer contrast to her face.
Camera body: Olympus OMD-EM5. Lens was the Panasonic Lumix 14mm/2.5 pancake. The lights were triggered via Cybersyncs.
Of course you'll find more updates as we get closer to launching the first pack. If you are a lover of women and photography, then I hope you'll check it out!
By the way, I did hint that Alison will be the first of several models to who will be having these exclusive download packs for her fans. Here's a hint at the second:
Thanks for looking! ;)
